Curriculum & Phonics
At Oakham CofE we have carefully constructed a curriculum which at least delivers the requirements of the National Curriculum for all learners, whilst also reflecting the needs and context of our school community. It is designed to give all learners, particularly our most disadvantaged and SEND children, the knowledge, understanding, skills and cultural capital they need to succeed in life.
We believe that children deserve a balanced curriculum with Reading, Writing and Maths at its core. Our curriculum is progressive and carefully sequenced to ensure that over time, children will build conceptual frameworks that will enable a better understanding of increasingly sophisticated information and ideas. Knowing more, remembering more and doing more!
We currently have single year group classes and our curriculum is mapped out over a two-year cycle. If you would like to find out more, you will find a link to the National Curriculum, as well as our curriculum overviews below. Please also feel free to contact the school office (Tel: 01572 722404 oakhamoffice@rltschools.com) or speak with your child's class teacher if you require any further information.
